The tapestry across the front door comes from local textile artist Cefyn Burgess who was born and raised in the slate-mining community of Bethesda. The inspiration for this design comes from the intricate carved slate fire surrounds found in the homes of Bethesda miners (working for Lord Penrhyn, who also owned Pentop). The tapestry has another local connection having been woven on machines from the now-defunct Penmachno Woollen Mill.
